Urban Rebounding
The Urban Rebounding programme is a safe, effective style of aerobics that provides a surprisingly challenging cardiovascular workout without excess stress on the heart, muscle and joints. It is performed entirely on a specially designed high quality, spring enhanced mini-trampoline with a non-slip surface. The exercise is accomplished by jumping only a few inches off the surface of the Urban Rebounder and is based around eight core moves that work all the muscles in the body. It uses familiar aerobics moves, sports specific conditioning moves and core stabilization techniques.
"The Government is ahead of the 2008 PSA target to get 85% of pupils doing at least two hours of sports a week. But secondary schools are lagging behind primaries and girls are the least active once they hit adolescence" Ed Balls, October 2007.
Urban Rebounding can be used in schools for:
- PE curriculum classes
- Before school breakfast club (targeting attendance)
- Lunchtimes (targeting KS4 girls)
- After school clubs
- Health initiatives
- Open Days - for the community
- Targeting non sporty types
