Denise Lewis Opens New Playground
Olympic gold medallist Denise Lewis helped a group of young children celebrate the opening of a new playground on Wednesday (3rd Feb.)
The playground which has been developed as part of the Youth Sport Trust’s Playzone programme has been designed to provide both creative and innovative outdoor play opportunities for the children at St Mary’s Field School. The school will be one of only three across the country to have such equipment installed.
Upon opening the playground, the former Olympian Lewis stated "Kids do like to play outside and something like this really encourages their sense of freedom and gives them a chance to express themselves".
The playground which includes a wobble board, adventure trail, outdoor story area, stage and story area will provide an excellent space to take part in physical activity as well as more creative and imaginative activities.
Denise clearly had a very positive influence on the young children, spending time to get involved in a variety of activities as well as showing off her Olympic Gold Medal.
