St Paul's come so close at Table Tennis Championships
St Paul's Catholic School have followed on from their success at the County Schools Team Table Tennis event, by coming one match away from reaching a national semi final. Competiting as one of two Leicestershire schools in the Under 13 competition, St Paul's competed against teams from Nottinghamshire, Linconshire, Bedfordshire, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.
St Paul's started the competition extremely well, topping their group, beating some very good sides on the way. The next round of matches saw St Pauls compete in the semi final against Bedford Modern. The match was a closely fought battle with St Pauls just losing out, losing 5-3. Reaching the semi final of a regional Table Tennis event is almost an unprecedented result for a school in Leicester City.
Congratulations to the team made up of: Max Lewis-Clarke, Tobit Dehnen, Zack Moss and Ruaridh Wood. This is the first time St Paul's have competed at this level, against schools who have a very strong traditions in table tennis over the years.
